Pancakes - American pancakes
Content
Pancakes differ from the usual fritters in that they are cooked in fresh milk and a dry frying pan, without oil. Unlike Russian pancakes, they also contain baking powder. They're not greasy and dry, a cross between pancakes and muffins. Pancakes are a staple in every American family, traditionally served with maple syrup. But they're also delicious with jam, condensed milk, or sour cream.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- Milk 150 ml
- Sugar 2 tbsp.
- Salt 1 pinch
- Flour 150 g
- Butter 20 g
- Optional: berries, nuts, maple syrup
Recipe
Beat the egg with sugar and salt using a whisk.
Pour in warm milk with melted butter.
Beat until smooth.
Add flour and baking powder.
Mix with a whisk until smooth.
Spoon onto a dry, hot frying pan.
After 2-3 minutes, bubbles will appear on the pancakes. When they begin to pop, it's time to flip them.
Turn over and fry for another 1-2 minutes.
The pancakes are ready. Stack them, drizzle with maple syrup, and serve with berries or nuts. Enjoy!
Pancakes are healthier than traditional pancakes. Sure, they're not exactly a diet dessert, but you don't have to count every pancake you eat. 🙂
