How can you make soft, fluffy donuts with an interesting flavor using just a few simple ingredients? The secret lies in a very sticky dough! It's not runny, not too sticky, but sticky enough. And after it rises in a warm place, it practically stops sticking. But it still remains soft and airy. It might take some practice.

Ingredients

Dough:

  • half a glass of water;
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast;
  • 2 cups of milk;
  • sugar - to taste;
  • 3 tbsp butter;
  • 1 medium egg;
  • 1 g vanillin;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • about 400 g of flour.

Glaze:

  • dark chocolate bar (90 g);
  • half a glass of milk;
  • 30 g butter;
  • confectionery sprinkles.

Recipe

First, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit until the foam rises. Instead of waiting, you can melt three tablespoons of butter and let it cool.
Pour warm milk, water with prepared yeast, melted butter, egg, and vanilla into a mixing bowl. Sugar is to taste, considering the sweetness of the chocolate glaze. Vanilla sugar can, of course, be substituted for the sugar and vanilla, depending on what you have in the pantry.
Salt is an optional ingredient. It's often omitted from donut recipes.

The hardest part is guessing the amount of flour.

Even flour from the same bag behaves differently.

Just add flour in increments, trying to catch the moment when the dough is sticky but heavy and pleasantly firm. And keep a certain amount of flour in mind when rolling it out.

The dough should be kneaded well and left in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until it rises. It should double in size.

At this point, properly prepared dough is almost non-stick, soft and fluffy. It needs to be rolled out and cut into donuts.

These donuts are delicious on their own. You can eat them just like that. Or you can top some of them with a shiny chocolate glaze. Simply melt butter and a broken chocolate bar in milk. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more milk or even boiling water.
