What could be more beautiful than colorful, juicy berries, beautifully arranged on a platter? Undoubtedly, firm and appetizing bunches of grapes make a superb dessert in their own right and a beautiful addition to any table. With a little imagination, grape desserts can become a powerful chord at the end of a festive feast.

Grapes are practically universal. They pair perfectly with fruits, cheeses, and cottage cheese. They are suitable for:

  • fruit salads;
  • jams, jellies, marmalades;
  • a variety of casseroles, puddings, soufflés, muffins, cakes and more.

The list of all the grape desserts created over the centuries is incredibly long. And, what's especially gratifying, chefs are constantly expanding it, never neglecting this delicious and healthy gift of nature.

Desserts with grapes

The first plant

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact date when humans first enjoyed these amazing sunny berries. Archaeology claims that as early as 7,000 BCE, grapes were not only known to humanity but were even used in winemaking. The Bible, however, claims that they were the first plant to appear on Earth. Regardless, grapes continue to enjoy well-deserved love and respect to this day.

No other member of the earth's flora has been honored with a dedicated science. Except for grapes: a special branch of botany is devoted entirely to this plant. It's called ampelography (from the Greek ampelos, meaning grape). Grapes fully justify this reverent treatment, generously bestowing unique flavor, joy, and health upon people.

Nature's pantry

It would be no exaggeration to say that grapes contain a whole pharmacy (about 150 useful substances):

  • vitamins – A, B, C and so on;
  • microelements – potassium, magnesium, manganese, zinc and others;
  • amino acids and much, much more.

Grapes and their juice tone and strengthen the body, improve metabolism, and lower cholesterol. They are beneficial for the cardiovascular system and help treat many ailments. And most importantly, all these exceptionally beneficial substances are packaged in delicious "pills"—juicy, ripe berries. What could be more enjoyable: improving your health while enjoying exquisite flavor?

However, it's time to return to the culinary topic and talk about what kind of grape desserts you can make at home.

A simple beginning

Dessert canapes with grapes

To surprise and delight your loved ones and guests, you can start with the simplest dessert that doesn't require much physical effort: fruit canapés.

The ingredients are minimal: grapes (preferably seedless) and cheese. You'll also need special skewers to thread this delicious treat onto. The highlight of this dessert is the combination of the sweet and tart flavor of the grapes and the creamy taste of the cheese.

The preparation process takes minimal time. All you need is:

  • separate ripe berries from the bunch and wash thoroughly;
  • cut the cheese into small cubes;
  • Thread the grapes onto skewers, alternating them with cheese cubes. Done!

Grape canapés can be simply fanned out on a decorative platter. Or you can create a unique "bouquet" by sticking grape skewers into a halved orange.

If desired, you can add exotic ingredients to this impromptu "fruit shashlik," such as mango slices. However, an apple, pear, kiwi, or banana wouldn't ruin the overall impression either. In this case, you can even omit the cheese.

The advantages of this dessert are worth noting: it's delicious, looks quite impressive, and is quite inexpensive to make. Plus, the dish is very light and refreshing, which suits its original purpose.

Step two

So, we've got the ball rolling. Now you can make grape desserts a little more complicated. For example, try making grapes in yogurt jelly.

Dessert - grapes in yogurt jelly

For two servings of this dish you should stock up on:

  • 100 grams of grapes (preferably white);
  • 1 glass of light grape juice;
  • half a glass of natural yogurt;
  • 7 grams of gelatin.

After this, there are only eight steps left to take to success:

  1. Soak the gelatin.
  2. Separate the grapes from the bunch, rinse thoroughly, and dry. You can cut them in half (especially if you need to remove the seeds).
  3. Heat the grape juice (almost to a boil). Remove from heat and dissolve the soaked gelatin in it. Set the mixture aside to cool, stirring occasionally.
  4. Take vases or glasses and fill them halfway with grapes.
  5. Pour the cooled juice with gelatin into the glasses so as to just cover the berries.
  6. Place in the refrigerator and wait until it hardens completely.
  7. Mix the remaining “gelatin” juice with yogurt (add sugar if necessary).
  8. Remove the glasses with grapes from the refrigerator, pour in the yogurt, and let them set again. A delicious and easy dessert is ready.

If your attempt is successful, simply increase the suggested recipe to accommodate the number of guests you expect. And, of course, stock up on beautiful bowls. After all, an impressive presentation is one of the secrets to the success of any dessert!

Increasing the difficulty level

Cake with grapes and jelly

Surprising your guests with a no-bake fruit cake is, of course, a bit of work. This marvel takes about 2.5 hours to create. Plus, it takes another three hours for the masterpiece to be fully baked. So, it's best to start preparing it the night before the celebration.

You will need:

  • grapes – 300 g;
  • sugar – 1 glass;
  • dark chocolate – 200 g;
  • light chocolate – 100 g;
  • raisins – 100 g;
  • gelatin – 35 g;
  • sour cream (20%) – 300 g;
  • cream (35%) – 400 ml;
  • cookies – 300 g;
  • grape juice (light) – 0.5 cup.

There are certainly a lot of ingredients, but this unusual cake is worth it. So, let's begin, as always, step by step:

  1. Soak the raisins in hot water for about 30 minutes. Drain the water, rinse the berries, and dry them.
  2. Dissolve 25 grams of gelatin in 100 milliliters of warm water. Dissolve the remaining gelatin in grape juice.
  3. Crush the cookies into crumbs using your favorite method. Mix with melted dark chocolate and raisins.
  4. Line a springform pan (approximately 22 cm in diameter) with parchment paper. Pour the prepared "dough" into the pan, smooth it out, and refrigerate.
  5. Grate the white chocolate. Whip the sour cream with sugar. Add the grated chocolate and gelatin dissolved in water. Gently fold in the well-whipped cream.
  6. Pour the resulting creamy mixture into the mold, placing it on top of the chocolate cake. Return to the refrigerator to set for 1.5 hours.
  7. Now it's time for the gelatin, soaked in grape juice. It needs to be heated until dissolved and then cooled.
  8. Cut the washed grapes in half and arrange them in a thick layer over the cake. Pour the gelatin mixture over the almost finished dessert and refrigerate it for the same three hours mentioned earlier.

This exquisite and unusual grape dessert will undoubtedly bring the hostess a ton of compliments from satisfied guests.
