This bright, juicy, aromatic, and sweet autumn fruit is the exception to the rule: what's tasty isn't always healthy. Plums, on the other hand, are both tasty and healthy. There are many varieties of this stone fruit, varying in size and sugar content. Plums contain many nutrients beneficial to the body, including vitamins and minerals. Plums are low in calories, so a plum dessert will simply be a healthy source of fructose and will keep you in a good mood all day long.

This fruit is eaten raw and can be an ingredient in various plum desserts. It also makes delicious baked goods, such as pies, cookies, plum pastries, and plum-filled cakes. Both fresh and dried plums can be used. Everyone's favorite, prunes, are also delicious and healthy, and dishes made with them have a distinctive aroma.

Prunes and dried apricots with cream—a simple dessert recipe from childhood. A new twist is achieved by adding a little gelatin to the cream. Be sure to make this dessert—it simply melts in your mouth, and the natural tartness of the plums removes the sweetness and adds a piquant flavor!

Creamy plum dessert – a delicious pun!

The first recommended dessert is very delicate and delicious, and it's so natural that it's perfect even for baby food. Here's what you'll need:

  • 500 g cream, preferably high fat – the cream should be warm;
  • 100 g sugar;
  • Nutmeg is essential for flavor;
  • a couple of cinnamon sticks;
  • 250 g fresh plums;
  • a pinch of vanilla sugar;
  • one tablespoon of gelatin;
  • 130 g sugar – for boiling plums;
  • 100 g sugar for cream.

This plum dessert will be a wonderful original decoration for a table on a holiday or just a Sunday.

First, wash the plums, dry them, then cut them in half, carefully removing the pits. Next, cut the plums into roughly equal pieces. How to make the plums juicy and tender? Boil them.

Place the plums in a saucepan, cover with hot water (about 50 ml), and set over low heat. Bring to a boil, then add the nutmeg, sugar, and cinnamon, and cover with a lid. The plums shouldn't be too soft, just slightly cooked, so keep them on the heat, covered, for no more than 5 minutes. After removing the plums from the heat, it's time to make the cream.

We'll also be boiling the cream, so pour it into a saucepan, add sugar and vanilla, and bring to a boil. Stir and bring to a boil. Then remove from the heat and cool to 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Meanwhile, soak the gelatin, wait for it to bloom, and then squeeze it out. Adding the gelatin to the cream is crucial; make sure the consistency is smooth.

The next step is to arrange our dessert into molds. First, arrange the plum slices, then the cream and gelatin, cover the molds with cling film, and refrigerate for about two hours.

Before serving to guests or family, dip the plum dessert in hot water for just a few seconds, then pour onto dessert plates. The dessert is ready and can be garnished with beautiful sprigs of fresh mint!

Incredibly delicious pie "Tatin"

As usual, you'll need two sets of ingredients: one for the dough and one for the filling. For the dough, you'll need:

  • flour, about 300 g, maybe less, it all depends on the baking dish;
  • sugar, 3 or 5 tablespoons, you can add more if the plums are sour, but don’t overdo it;
  • milk 200 g;
  • butter 50 g;
  • eggs 2 pcs;
  • baking powder about 2 or 1 ½ teaspoons;
  • vanillin, a pinch.

Now what you need for the filling:

  • plums, 0.5 kg, preferably medium size, the pie will look more interesting;
  • butter, 40 grams;
  • sugar, half a glass;
  • Walnuts – two tablespoons. Chop the nuts first, but don't grind them, so you can feel the pieces.

Prepare the dough. First, mix the flour, vanilla, sugar, and baking powder. Always mix the dry ingredients together to ensure they're evenly distributed. Don't forget to sift the flour first.

Next, prepare another mixture. In a separate bowl, combine melted (but not hot!) butter, eggs, and milk, and beat with a mixer. Once the ingredients are well combined and the mixture has slightly increased in volume, gradually pour it into the flour.

Next, melt the butter in a preheated frying pan, add all the plums, cut-side down, and add sugar and walnuts. Fry everything for about 3 minutes—the aroma will be amazing. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool slightly. Pour the batter directly onto the hot plums. Try to smooth the surface, but don't press it down! Bake for 20-25 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius.

After baking, cool the cake and invert it onto a plate. This will create an upside-down cake. If desired, lightly dust it with powdered sugar. This delicious treat can be served with whipped cream or ice cream.

Time for some jam!

If you love a unique combination of flavors, try making this unusual, delicious plum jam with lemon, star anise, and caramelized walnuts. This jam will not only be delicious, but also incredibly aromatic! This plum dessert is very easy to make.

Use equal parts plums and sugar: 2 kg of plums and 2 kg of sugar, respectively. Additionally, add the juice of one lemon, star anise, and a cup of prepared walnut kernels.

Caramelizing nuts is also easy. Place them in a frying pan, add 3-4 tablespoons of sugar, and toast, stirring constantly. Once a sweet crust forms, remove from the heat.

Plums need to be minced, as only the mincer will grind the skins. Add sugar to the resulting plum puree, stir, and place on the heat. Skim off any foam as it cooks. Cook for about 45 minutes; the jam should be thick, like marmalade. Add lemon juice and nuts, and cook for another 5 minutes. Pour into jars while hot. Add one star anise to each jar: the number of jars you have will determine the number of anise seeds.

Bon appétit everyone!
