Mystery Pie
Why a riddle? Because no one will be able to guess what exactly the pie is made of. What's unique about it is that pumpkin is used not as a filling, but as a base for the dough:
- pumpkin puree - 250 g;
- 75 g sugar;
- butter and nuts (walnuts) - 50 g each;
- flour - 400 g;
- a packet of baking powder;
- A pinch each of salt, cloves, cinnamon, and ground cardamom. These spices perfectly enhance the pumpkin flavor.
For the filling you will need:
- 50 g sugar;
- 350 g apples;
- vanilla and cinnamon.
Making a pie starts with the dough:
- First, peel and cut the pumpkin into small pieces, then bake it in the oven until soft. Then, puree the pulp with a blender. To obtain the specified amount of puree, you'll need about 500 g of fresh pumpkin.
- The butter should be defrosted and the nuts chopped beforehand. Once the preparation is complete, you can begin kneading the dough (using all the ingredients listed in the recipe).
- Now's the time to prepare the filling: peel the apples and slice them thinly. The recipe calls for the weight of pre-sliced apples. Separate three-quarters of the dough and press it into the pan, forming the edges. Fill the pie crust with the filling, sprinkling it with sugar and spices. Tear the remaining dough into small pieces and arrange them randomly on top of the filling.
- Bake the pie until golden brown in an oven preheated to 180 0In about half an hour, the fragrant, sunny, warm dessert, reminiscent of summer, will be ready.
It's time to call your family!
