Strawberry panna cotta is a classic of world cuisine.

So, let's figure out how to make strawberry panna cotta. The recipe contains just four main ingredients for the base itself, and since we're using strawberry dressing, we'll also add strawberries. Although, looking ahead, I'll say the sauce can be made with any berry you like. So:
Ingredients:
- Cream – 500 ml (the fatter, the better)
- Sugar, or powdered sugar – 150 gr.
- Gelatin – 15 g (1-2 packets depending on packaging)
- Vanilla – 1 pod, or half a teaspoon of vanilla essence, or 1 packet of vanilla sugar (this is an optional ingredient, so feel free to leave it out if you don’t like the vanilla flavor)
Recipe:
First, pour some of the cream into a separate bowl and mix it with the gelatin. Basically, any recipe that involves gelatin is identical – you need to wait about 10 minutes for the gelatin to bloom (you can even Google a photo of what this looks like), and then continue cooking.
Next, combine the remaining cream with the sugar in a saucepan. Add the cream and gelatin, and begin heating until the sugar and gelatin dissolve. Stir vigorously, being careful not to bring to a boil.
Once all the ingredients have completely dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool, stirring constantly. You can place the pan in a container filled with cold water to speed up the cooling process.
To make our strawberry panna cotta look its best, let the base cool slightly and then pour the mixture into pretty molds. Or, alternatively, into one large (preferably flat) container. This depends on whether you'll be serving individual portions or enjoying it in a more intimate setting. Individual portions will produce prettier photos, especially when each serving is beautifully topped with the strawberry dressing. Refrigerate the molds for a few hours. Check to see if the mixture has set – it should become a firm pudding.
How to make panna cotta dressing?
Ingredients for the dressing (sauce)
- Fresh or frozen strawberries – 300 g.
- Sugar or powdered sugar – to taste (about 50-100g)
Dressing (sauce) recipe
If the strawberries are fresh, wash them, dry them slightly, and trim off the leaves. If the strawberries are frozen, you can defrost them.
Place the berries in a blender, or in a meat grinder if you don’t have a blender, and beat/grind them together with sugar.
If you're short on time, you can puree the frozen berries directly, but then add powdered sugar instead of sugar. The dressing should be free of sugar grains, but don't over-process it or heat it—just let it sit for a bit or use powdered sugar. Strawberries are often already sweet enough, so adding anything extra is unnecessary. Simply puree the berries, but remember that this strawberry dressing spoils quickly and should be eaten almost immediately.
Dessert decoration
Remove the base, turn the molds over, and place it on attractive plates, or on one large dish if you poured the base into a larger mold. To help the base transfer to the dish(es), you can first dip the mold in hot water for 10-20 seconds. Don't dip the mold all the way to avoid splashing water on the base itself. This will melt the base slightly, allowing it to slide easily onto the dish.
Once the base is beautifully arranged on the plate, pour the prepared dressing over it. Voila – strawberry panna cotta is ready! Although the original, classic recipe doesn't include anything else, you can garnish the panna cotta with strawberry slices or other berries, dust it with powdered sugar (especially if you didn't add any sugar to the dressing itself), or spread whipped cream directly on top. As you can see, this dessert recipe is simple, and you don't even need step-by-step photos to understand the ingredients. And of course, with this recipe, you can experiment and add your favorite ingredients, creating your own interpretation of the famous dessert.
