The process of making cupcakes
Recipe:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking pan and lightly dust it with flour, or spray it with baking spray. You can line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper—this is especially helpful for pans with solid sides.
- Cut the room temperature butter into cubes and mix with powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Add all three eggs one by one to the butter-sugar mixture, thoroughly mixing the mixture until white.
- Beat the resulting mixture slightly with a mixer – the mixture should become slightly fluffy.
- Sift the flour, mix it with the baking powder, and add these ingredients to the butter-egg mixture. Then add the almond flour, zest (optional), and salt and mix thoroughly again with a mixer.
- Transfer the finished dough to the prepared pan, sprinkle with almond flakes or almond petals. Cover with foil (to prevent the almond petals from burning right away), poke a few holes in it, and bake in the oven for fifteen minutes.
- After fifteen minutes, open the oven, remove the foil and return the cake to bake for another twenty minutes.
- After this time, check for doneness with a toothpick. Insert it into the center of the cake and immediately remove it. If there's any batter remaining on the toothpick, keep the cake in the oven for another five minutes.
- We take our almond dessert out of the oven and carefully run a spatula along the sides of the pan so that the cake separates from them.
- We place it on a dessert plate and cover it with a towel – the cake needs a few minutes to “rest”.
- If you used orange zest, you can serve the cake with orange jam or lightly drizzle the individual pieces with orange syrup.
This quick and delicious cake is ready! We're sure you'll love this airy and incredibly delicious dessert! You can drizzle it with melted chocolate if you like, but it's best to do this after it's been sliced. Unfortunately, chocolate can overpower the delicate almond flavor, so try this treat plain first.
Also, if you find the almond flavor too mild, you can lightly drizzle the individual pieces with almond syrup (just be careful not to overdo it, as it's too sweet). Don't forget to store any leftover cake in a box or plastic bag – this will prevent your dessert from drying out, and you can enjoy it for days or even weeks to come. Enjoy!
