The process of preparing any dishes for children necessarily includes adherence to three basic rules.

Firstly, a treat for little sweet-tooths needs to be quick and easy. After all, there's always that restless toddler lurking nearby, wanting to either steal a knife from the table or stick his whole hand right into the middle of the cake.

Secondly, children's desserts should have a theme, preferably fairytale-like, in them. This means they should resemble cartoon characters or be decorated with bright and eye-catching culinary elements.

And thirdly, when preparing a long-awaited treat, it's best to use either your child's favorite ingredients, or, conversely, unloved ones that are healthy for them. Sometimes, turning semolina into a luxurious, magical surprise, for example, will have the little picky eater devour the once-unloved porridge in no time. Especially if they've helped decorate the "surprise for Misha" beforehand.

Semolina mousse - a surprise for Misha

Semolina mousse - desserts for children

To prepare semolina-berry mousse you need very few ingredients:

  • three tablespoons of semolina;
  • two glasses of water;
  • a glass of fresh or frozen berries;
  • sugar to taste.

First, you need to make a simple compote. Frozen berries, however, are best thawed before adding them to the pot. Once the compote is ready, remove it from the heat and strain. Then return it to the stove. Pour the semolina into the boiling compote, stirring slowly and constantly. The mixture should be thin, but not too runny. Cool, stirring again to prevent a foam from forming on the surface. You can sprinkle it with a little sugar. Once cool, blend this "surprise for Misha." You should get a deliciously airy, yet very firm mixture. This usually takes about ten minutes. This delicacy is incredibly popular not only with boys but also with girls. Children enjoy decorating it with berries or colorful cake sprinkles.

A bouquet for Princess Nesmeyana

If your little one loves sweets but turns up her nose at apples, you can offer her this incredibly healthy treat. "Princess Nesmeyana's Bouquet" is very easy to make. You'll need:

  • one firm but small apple;
  • a package of puff pastry (not yeast, however);
  • sugar to taste – for sugar syrup;
  • wooden skewers as decoration.

The apple is cut into quarters, then into thin, almost translucent slices. These slices are boiled for a few minutes in sugar syrup, becoming as transparent as glass. The dough is rolled out and cut into strips, each no more than 20 centimeters long. Apple slices are laid on the strips, overlapping them. The strips are rolled into logs and placed on a greased baking sheet. The roses literally bloom in the oven. All that remains is to thread them onto wooden skewers, wrapped in foil and decorated with lace made from colorful napkins. Attractive children's desserts in the shape of a bouquet of flowers or a soccer ball will impress any child.

Useful "Rafaelo"

Homemade Raffaello is a great dessert for kids.

Sometimes it's better to make your baby's favorite treat yourself than to buy it at the store. For example, the popular Rafaelo cake can be easily made at home by replacing unhealthy ingredients with healthy ones. Here's what you need:

  • 200 grams of homemade cottage cheese;
  • 150 g sugar;
  • 200 g of coconut flakes (preferably white, not multi-colored);
  • almond.

First, pour boiling water over the almonds and let them sit for a while. This will allow the skins to be easily separated from the kernels. Mix the cottage cheese, sugar, and almond shavings until the desired consistency is reached. Now roll the almonds into balls about the size of a teaspoon. Place an almond or half of an almond in the center of each ball. Then roll the balls in coconut shavings. For small children, it's best not to add the shavings to the curd balls themselves; just roll them in them. Refrigerate all the balls for about an hour. Believe me, children will appreciate this treat, and parents will no longer worry about the harm unhealthy sweets can cause to their children.

Curd cakes

Small curd cakes

It's worth noting that curd desserts are much healthier for children than any other dessert. This is because curd contains important nutrients such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium, sodium, and magnesium, along with many other beneficial vitamins. Therefore, it's much better to make a curd treat than a sponge cake, for example. And for little fidgets who constantly demand chocolate curd bars, the recipe for "Curd Cakes" is perfect. You'll need the following ingredients:

  • 650 g of homemade cottage cheese;
  • 200 g low-fat sour cream (preferably store-bought);
  • 200 g dark milk chocolate;
  • some sugar and a banana.

The first thing you need to do is melt the chocolate. Use a double boiler. Then, coat the prepared silicone molds with melted chocolate and place them in the freezer to set (for at least 10 minutes). Meanwhile, use a blender to beat the curd-sour cream mixture, adding sugar and banana. Once the chocolate has set, you can remove the molds and fill them with the curd mixture. Coat the tops of the resulting "cakes" with the same melted chocolate. Then, return the molds to the freezer. Once set, the chocolate curd cakes are removed from the silicone molds. You can use them to build an entire city or garden, depending on how you choose to decorate the chocolate-curd towers.

These desserts for children are not only healthy and delicious, but also help develop a child's imagination. By arranging the brown cakes in different patterns and decorating them with whatever's on hand, you can create a story with your child or replicate shapes and colors on the spot. And little budding cooks will also get their first taste of making a sweet treat.
