Pineapple Charlotte in a Frying Pan
Apple charlotte is delicious, but it's no longer a hit these days. So, we suggest experimenting with a filling made from canned pineapple and adding apples just for flavor. This dessert retains its simplicity and ease of preparation.
To prepare this dessert we will need: one cup of flour, one cup of sugar, one can of canned pineapple, one medium apple, three chicken eggs, half a teaspoon of baking powder, one tablespoon of semolina, three tablespoons of refined sunflower oil.
Let's prepare the filling
So, the pie filling will consist mostly of pineapple. Open the can of pineapple, drain the water, and if the pineapple is sliced, cut the rings into small cubes.
The dessert does include one apple, but we're leaving it in because it preserves the charlotte's delicious apple flavor, and because the dessert is baked in a frying pan, the apple juice transforms into a delicious, crunchy caramel. Wash the apple, peel it, and cut it into small cubes.
Prepare the dough
First, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Pour the whites and sugar into a deep, clean bowl and beat with a mixer. Then add the yolks, flour, and half a teaspoon of baking powder. Beat all ingredients again with a mixer until the consistency resembles thick sour cream.
We'll need a fairly deep frying pan. Keep in mind that the dough will rise during baking. Take out a deep frying pan, grease it with butter or sunflower oil, pour a cup of semolina into the pan, then spread the apple and pineapple filling on top of the semolina, and then pour in the batter.
Place the pan over medium heat and bake for no more than 20 minutes. Check the doneness of the charlotte with a match or toothpick. If the match comes out clean, the pie is ready.
The delicious aroma of apple-pineapple caramel will also let you know that the dessert is ready. As soon as you smell it, you can remove the dessert from the heat and turn it out onto a beautiful plate.
