Homemade cookies for little "teddy bears"
How wonderful it is to gather in the evening with the whole family, sit down at the table, and sip aromatic tea. And what would tea be without something delicious? One of the most delicious accompaniments to tea is cookies. Of course, these days we can easily go to the store and choose any treat, but it's much more delicious to make one yourself, putting warmth and love into each cookie. Homemade honey cookies are especially delicious.
Almost all recipes for this delicacy are quite simple. Despite this, they turn out tender and flavorful, and they stay soft for a long time. This is due to the addition of honey. This sweet ingredient also gives our cookies a beautiful golden color, as pictured.
Quick cookies with honey
We'll share a recipe for quick, incredibly delicious honey cookies. To make these cookies, you'll need the following ingredients:
- 100 g melted butter;
- 1 chicken egg;
- 100 g honey;
- 1 lemon;
- A pinch of salt;
- 250 g wheat flour;
- Half a teaspoon of soda;
- 50 g powdered sugar.
Half an hour before cooking, remove all ingredients from the refrigerator. They should be at room temperature. So, take softened butter. We used clarified butter, but if you don't have it, feel free to use regular butter; the recipe allows for it. Crack an egg into the butter and mix thoroughly, then beat. Then add the lemon zest and honey. Beat everything thoroughly again. It's best to use a mixer for this.
We continue preparing the dough. To ensure the honey cookies are tender and crumbly, we sift the wheat flour. This process enriches it with oxygen, which gives the dough a delicate texture that remains soft for several days after baking.
Sift the flour and add it to the previously beaten mixture, adding salt and baking soda. Knead the dough together. It will be slightly sticky and may stick to your hands. However, don't add more flour—the recipe calls for the exact amount we've specified. Otherwise, the honey cookies will be too coarse and not as appetizing as in the photo. To make the dough easier to handle, refrigerate it for half an hour.
Once you've removed the cookie base, turn on the oven. Let it preheat to 180 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, let's shape the cookies. Our recipe, like other "Honey Cookie" recipes, doesn't specify a specific method. You can roll out the dough and use cookie cutters or a regular glass to shape the cookies. You can also cut it into squares. Alternatively, you can divide it into several smaller pieces, roll each into a "sausage," and shape it into a small donut. This way, you'll get soft cookies in the shape shown in the photo.
Next, take a regular baking sheet or pan and line it with parchment paper. Our recipe doesn't call for greasing the paper. However, if you don't have parchment and will be placing the cookies on a bare sheet, it's best to grease it. Place the cookies, leaving a small distance between them to prevent them from sticking together. Place the whole thing in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes. The recipe says this is enough time for the cookies to be soft, crumbly, and delicious.
Once we've removed our soft cookies while they're still warm, dust them with powdered sugar. If you'd like, you can make some icing to top them, but we think this delicious recipe is just as delicious without icing. That's it: now you know how to make honey cookies, with a quick and easy recipe.
