In this collection, we'll tell you about the traditional recipe for this famous Italian delicacy, as well as its various interpretations by famous chefs and experienced housewives.
What are biscotti?
Biscotti are incredibly tasty and aromatic Italian dry cookies, made without the use of fat or baking powder, with the addition of a large amount of nuts and candied fruits.
These aren't just baked goods, but symbols of a whole world of cookies. Italians use the term "biscotti" to describe any dry, crispy pastry, regardless of its shape, size, or flavor. In our country, biscotti refers to only one variety of Italian pastry, known in their homeland as cantucci or biscotti from Prato.
The original recipe for cantuccini calls for only almonds, but various nuts, as well as candied fruit, candied fruit, and raisins, can be added. The finished biscotti are also dipped in chocolate, which extends their shelf life, keeping them for 3-4 months.
