How to make cookies soft and tender?
Content
There is one homemade delicacy, the recipe of which is equally loved by both children and adults. This is a soft cookie. This is great because it's suitable for both toothless babies, their parents, and even their already toothless grandparents. Recipes for these cookies vary widely, but each one is simple enough to prepare at home.
How to achieve softness?
Not everyone enjoys crumbly cookies made from shortbread or other dough. However, any recipe can be slightly modified to give the dough the desired properties. And if you decorate the cookies properly and send photos of them to friends, you'll soon have guests over. To make soft homemade cookies, follow a few principles:
- Use a minimum amount of flour - this will reduce the density.
- Include sour cream, butter, and other dairy products in recipes to achieve a delicate texture and flavor.
- Add soda or baking powder to make it airy.
Fluffy honey cookies
These sweet mini-cakes will be a hit within half an hour of being baked. From the photo, they look like koloboks, so you can decorate them in that style.
Ingredients: 150 g sugar, 300 g flour, 200 g butter, 1 full glass of sour cream, 50 g honey, 35 ml lemon juice, 30 g soda.
How to cook:
- Soften the butter and mix with honey.
- Next, add and mix the sour cream, juice, and sugar one by one. Finally, add the flour and baking soda (together).
- After kneading for a short time, you will get a slightly thick dough.
- Place it on the profile (pre-sprinkled with flour) about a tablespoon at a time (roll into balls) with a distance of at least 2.5 cm.
- The cookies bake quickly – about 15 minutes at a temperature no higher than 180 degrees.
- You can take it out when the crust is golden brown.
- You can use melted chocolate or icing as decoration, or simply sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Oatmeal Lemon Cookies
This recipe is perfect for those who love healthy, homemade cookies with a citrusy flavor. When baked in balls, they're a little more spreadable than the previous version, but just as soft. You can substitute vanilla for the lemon zest to create vanilla cookies. To make these homemade cookies look even more appetizing in photos, be sure to decorate them.
Ingredients: butter (100 g), sugar (250 g), sour cream (half a glass), egg (1 pc.), lemon zest (5-6 g), flour (two full glasses), salt (a small pinch), soda (a large pinch), oatmeal or wheat bran ground in a coffee grinder (10-12 g).
Preparation:
- You can start preheating the oven immediately, as the dough cooks very quickly. Set the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Mix sugar into soft butter, then sour cream and egg.
- Then mix the flour with soda, salt and flakes (they should first be fried until golden brown).
- Using a mixer, stir this mixture into the sour cream. The dough will be sticky.
- Bake on greased parchment paper. Use two teaspoons to scoop the dough onto the pan, scooping it out from both sides. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cheese Cookies
If you want to document the recipe with photos, then you can bake cookies in the shape of stars, hearts, or other shapes.
Ingredients: 200 g processed cheese, 225 g flour, 1 egg, 70-80 g butter.
Preparation:
- Combine grated cheese with butter and egg.
- Then add flour and knead the dough thoroughly.
- We put it in the cold for half an hour.
- Bake on dry parchment at 180 degrees.
- While the oven is heating up, roll out a layer no more than 5 mm thick and cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
- The cookies bake very quickly. Take them out as soon as they are golden brown.
- You can decorate the cookies with herbs or sesame seeds by sprinkling them before baking.
As you can see, soft cookies can be served with both main courses and desserts. It all depends on your imagination and the filling you choose.
