Oatmeal and banana cookies "Hercules"
Content
Oatmeal for breakfast is nutritious, healthy, and even recommended by nutritionists. However, not everyone is thrilled with it. So why not turn this undoubtedly healthy food into a delicious treat? Plain oatmeal can be easily transformed into fragrant and tender oatmeal cookies with banana, which neither children nor adults will refuse.
Healthy ingredients
Oatmeal and bananas—it's hard to find a better combination of nutrition and flavor. These foods literally compete with each other for the amount of vitamins, microelements, and minerals they contain, essential for human life.
Oatmeal cookies with bananas can truly take the cake. They're the perfect breakfast: healthy, unusual, and, most importantly, incredibly delicious! This beneficial combination helps cleanse the body, relieves fatigue, increases productivity, combats depression, and provides a positive energy boost for the day. What's especially convenient: you can prepare this treat in advance and enjoy it leisurely in the morning.
It's best to start mastering a new type of baking with the simplest, or even dietary, option. This unusual cookie recipe contains a minimum of ingredients: bananas, oatmeal, and raisins. However, other dried fruits, such as prunes and dried apricots, would also work well. Nuts would also be a good addition; the choice depends entirely on individual taste preferences.
The recipe calls for the following proportions: 1 cup of rolled oats, a couple of bananas, and 2 tablespoons of raisins. The cooking method is even simpler:
- mash the bananas (this can be easily done with a fork), mix them with oatmeal and washed and dried raisins;
- Using a spoon, place the future cookies on a baking sheet (it is better to line it with baking paper first) and place them in the oven for a quarter of an hour at a temperature of 180 degrees - until lightly “brown”.
These nutritious banana oatmeal cookies are ready. They have an interesting (slightly sticky) texture and a wonderful aroma.
Modified version
Since there's no limit to perfection, you can modify this already delicious treat by enriching the recipe with additional ingredients. This version is, of course, higher in calories, but it's perfectly acceptable in the morning—after all, you have a long day ahead. Plus, this treat is sure to delight the younger generation—it even contains chocolate.
This recipe requires more ingredients than the previous one:
- 100 g each of butter, sugar and chocolate (any);
- 160 g flour;
- 180 g oatmeal;
- 2 eggs;
- 2 ripe bananas;
- a pinch of salt.
Step-by-step recipe:
- First, you need to mash the bananas (peel them first, of course). You don't need to be too fanatical about it—just mash them with a fork.
- Melt the butter and pour it into the bananas. Add the eggs, thoroughly beaten with sugar and a pinch of salt, and gradually add the flour, stirring constantly.
- Now it's time to enrich the mixture with oatmeal. And finally, the finishing touch is to fold in the chopped chocolate.
- To bake, preheat the oven to 180-190 degrees Celsius (350-375 degrees Fahrenheit). While the oven is heating, form the cookies: line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spoon the dough onto it. Baking takes about half an hour.
Once the top is golden brown, you know these tender, fragrant, and crispy banana oatmeal cookies are ready. Health, flavor, and pleasure—all in one!
