Pear cakes with honey and almonds
Content
At any celebration, guests most look forward to dessert. What could be better than a delicate cake served with tea? We've prepared simple and delicious dessert recipes with pears and honey that will delight any homemaker.
Golden cakes with pear and honey
To prepare this cake you will need:
- 100 grams of honey + 4 tablespoons for filling;
- 250 grams of wheat flour;
- 70 grams of starch;
- 1 pack of butter;
- 600 grams of pears;
- 1 pack of vanillin;
- 1 nutmeg.
This pear and honey cake is easy to make. First, mix the flour and starch together. Add 100 grams of honey. The honey shouldn't be crystallized or too thick.
Melt the butter in a double boiler and pour it into the bowl containing the dough. Mix thoroughly. The dough should be firm, but not too thick. Refrigerate the dough for half an hour.
While it's rising, it's time to prepare the pears. Wash them, peel and core them, and cut them into cubes. Mix with 4 tablespoons of honey and let them sit for a while. This allows the pears to release their juices.
Place each cake into a muffin tin using the following principle: place a thin layer of dough on the bottom and press it down with your fingers. Then, spoon the filling on top.
Bake this treat for about twenty minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. It's crucial to keep an eye on the pears and honey: they should be golden brown and caramelized, but not burnt.
As you can see, the recipe is very simple and quick, and the cakes themselves are delicious. This dish can be served in a variety of ways: for example, if you like cream, after cooling, you can top each serving with a cap of whipped cream and chocolate or caramel topping.
Pear and Almond Puff Pastry Cakes
This puff pastry cake is very light and suitable even for those on a diet. This honey and pear treat is a little more difficult to prepare than the previous one, but it still doesn't take much time.
Prepare:
- 70-100 grams of almonds with skin;
- 0.25 pack of melted butter;
- 1 pack of vanilla seeds;
- 3 medium pears of any variety;
- Ready-made puff pastry according to any recipe;
- 300 grams of applesauce (you can use baby food);
- 150 grams of honey.
So, first, you need to roast the almonds. To do this, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and leave them on a baking sheet for five minutes, then let them cool. Roasting almonds enhances the nutty aroma and flavor of the dish.
You can either make your own applesauce or buy it ready-made. Baby food has a very delicate flavor, so I usually use that. Vanilla seeds are added to 300 grams of puree.
We treat the pears in much the same way as in the previous recipe, only instead of cutting them into cubes, we cut them into thin slices. We also soak them in honey.
Circles or squares are cut out of the dough (if desired, you can use cookie cutters to create something incredibly beautiful and original—it's up to your imagination). A thin layer of applesauce is spread on top of the dough, and pears soaked in honey are arranged in a fan.
Bake at 190 degrees Celsius until golden brown. Cool before serving and sprinkle with crushed almonds.
ATTENTION! Remember that puff pastries are baked on parchment paper or a VERY good baking sheet. It's recommended to grease the pan with shortening. Otherwise, you risk burning the pastry. Plus, it will be very difficult to remove from the pan.
Serving puff pastries can also vary. French culinary tradition calls for serving these desserts with a scoop of creamy ice cream. No additional sweetening is necessary, but if you have a sweet tooth, melted chocolate or caramel are the perfect complement to the pastries.
