Classic Brownie and other recipes
Content
Brownie is a cake whose recipe is considered one of the most popular in America and Europe. This aromatic confection was invented in Chicago in 1893. The authentic dessert is topped with apricot glaze, but I suggest making a brownie recipe adapted to our culture. Trust me, the result will be just as good: our cake will have a subtle vanilla aroma, a moist filling, and a crispy crust.
Almost a classic Brownie
To prepare the Brownie dessert we will need:
- 100 grams of dark bitter chocolate;
- ~170 grams of butter;
- 200 grams of brown sugar;
- 4 whole chicken eggs;
- 100 grams of wheat flour;
- 100 grams of walnuts.
This brownie recipe makes six servings. It takes about forty minutes to prepare.
First, for our brownie, we need to break the chocolate into small pieces. Melt it with butter in a double boiler. Stirring is essential during this process. Once the chocolate thickens and turns into a sauce, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
Meanwhile, mix the eggs with half the brown sugar. The cake should be smooth, so add the sugar gradually, stirring thoroughly with a whisk or mixer until the sugar is completely dissolved. This process will take about 2-3 minutes.
The dessert may have a more pronounced nutty or vanilla flavor. If you prefer nuts, toast them in a dry frying pan before chopping. Then, chop them into fine crumbs with a sharp knife.
Add the remaining sugar, flour, and chopped nuts to the chocolate cream. Mix thoroughly. The recipe calls for a gradual mixing of the ingredients: this will ensure our brownie has a smooth texture and a classic appearance.
Next, pour the sugar-egg mixture into the future dessert and thoroughly mix it with the chocolate mixture. The color should be even, without streaks.
Time to bake our dessert!
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Line the bottom of a brownie pan with greased parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan, spread it evenly, and bake for 25-30 minutes. A crust should form on the surface.
The pie is ready! Now it's time to cool, slice, and serve. To ensure the slices are perfectly sized and the cake looks like a restaurant dish, use a pizza cutter to cut the brownie.
The classic recipe doesn't offer any Chicago-style serving secrets, so trust your taste and imagination. A delicious combination is brownie with vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar.
Chocolate Banana Brownie
This unusual dessert combines classic brownie with banana cheesecake. It's delicately flavored and low in calories. This recipe is suitable even for small children, and the end result is a delicious dessert that's hard to distinguish from delicate Austrian pastries.
To prepare four servings you will need:
- 3 whole chicken eggs;
- 150 grams of chocolate (dark, milk, optional);
- 80 grams of butter;
- 1 tablespoon cocoa;
- 3 tablespoons of sugar;
- 1 banana;
- 3 tablespoons of wheat flour;
- 100 grams of cottage cheese.
This recipe will take you no more than 45 minutes of time.
The preparation process is quite simple. First, melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. The resulting mixture should be smooth and not too thick.
Next, combine the cocoa and flour. Next, beat two whole eggs with two tablespoons of sugar. You can use a whisk or a mixer. The main thing is to lighten the brownie base. Add the chocolate sauce and the flour mixed with the cocoa to the beaten eggs.
It's best to add the ingredients gradually. This will help avoid lumps in the dough. One dessert batch is ready.
Now it's just a matter of minutes: combine the cottage cheese, egg, tablespoon of sugar, and banana in a blender until smooth. If you prefer to whisk the mixture, you can mash the banana with a hot fork.
Now it's time to bake. First, place the chocolate base in a well-greased pan. Pour the cottage cheese and banana mixture onto the evenly distributed base. For a more creative twist, you can decorate our dessert with some unusual patterns. You can cut them out with the handle of a spoon or fork.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the dessert for half an hour.
Serving and decoration
Since this is a non-traditional recipe, serving the dish can be done in a variety of ways. After dividing the pie into portions, each can be placed on a bed of powdered sugar and garnished with whipped cream. The dessert can also be garnished with fruit slices and a sprig of mint.
An unusual summer serving that adds a little spice to the brownie is a scoop of ice cream or coffee ice cream garnished with cinnamon sprinkles and grated ginger.
Another original option is candied peel. We don't recommend making classic candied orange peel. A delicious alternative and beautiful decoration is candied peel from thick-skinned tangerines. This recipe is perfect for your brownies.
Ingredients:
- 300 grams of white sugar;
- tangerines;
- 120 milliliters of water.
Wash the tangerines thoroughly and peel them. Cover the peels with water and leave for six hours. Then drain the water and repeat the process.
Pour out the old water, add new water, and place on the stove. Bring the skins and water to a boil and cook for five to seven minutes. Then drain the boiling water and lay the skins out on a towel.
Make the syrup. Measure out the sugar and water: the sugar should be equal to the weight of the peels, and the water to sugar ratio should be 1.5:4. Boil the mixture over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer for an hour over low heat until the syrup has completely evaporated. For a sharper citrus flavor, you can add a few spoons of lemon liqueur.
Lightly dry the candied fruit in the oven. Garnishing the brownies with it will add a subtle flavor, adding soft citrus notes. You can grate or chop the candied fruit, if desired.
Here's a unique recipe for serving your chocolate dessert. Enjoy!
