Classic Banana Mousse
This is a simple mousse without any additives, which retains the distinct banana flavor. It requires the following ingredients:
- 2 bananas;
- 150 g cream 25% fat;
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice;
- 1 tablespoon of honey;
- 2 egg whites;
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla sugar.
To ensure the banana mousse is truly delicious and sweet, the recipe calls for good, ripe, yellow bananas. The riper the banana, the better the flavor. Peel them, then cut them into pieces and place them in a bowl. Add lemon juice, vanilla sugar, and honey to the bananas.
Blend everything thoroughly with a blender until smooth and lump-free. Next, pour in the cream and beat again. Regarding the cream, the recipe allows for the use of heavier cream, such as classic 33% fat. This will make the banana mousse even more delicate, more flavorful, and, most importantly, more delicious, and it will look just as beautiful as in the photo.
So, set the banana-cream mixture aside and begin whisking the eggs. Carefully separate the yolks from the whites. The whites should be clear, without any shell particles or yolk inclusions. Whip them, of course. Use a mixer, as whisking with a whisk will require a lot of time and vigor. Whip the whites until they form fluffy foam, or more precisely, stiff, white, and shiny peaks.
After this step, we face a challenging but crucial task: mixing the banana mixture with the egg whites. The egg whites will give our mousse its fluffiness, so you need to mix them very, very carefully. Place the egg whites on top, not all at once, but dividing them in half, mixing them in two batches. Mix gently, from top to bottom. The result should be a smooth, pleasingly colored mixture, as in the photo. As you can see, the recipe is quite simple, as the banana mousse is almost ready at this point. All that's left to do is transfer it to pretty bowls or glasses and refrigerate for about 20 minutes. Once the banana mousse is ready, you can garnish it with nuts, place a slice of fruit on the side of the bowl, or sprinkle with grated chocolate. The recipe offers no restrictions on this.
Banana-orange dessert
This recipe is special because we use orange juice, giving the banana mousse a hint of orange, giving it an unforgettable flavor. For this treat, you'll need:
- 3 bananas;
- 1 glass of orange juice, or even better, fresh juice;
- 2 packs of orange jelly;
- 300 ml of concentrated sterilized milk;
- Half a glass of sugar.
This recipe starts with the bananas. Peel them, then slice them into rounds and place them in a saucepan. Add the orange juice and sugar. Place the saucepan over low heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and, stirring, cook the bananas until they become mushy. Cook the mixture for about seven minutes, counting from the moment it starts boiling. Then turn off the heat.
Next, take the jelly. If you're using the kind that doesn't require soaking, add it directly to the banana mixture. If you're using the kind that requires soaking, add about six tablespoons of water, let it swell, and then dissolve it over heat, being careful not to let it boil. Then add it to the banana mixture.
We need to cool the evaporated milk and then beat it thoroughly with a mixer. This milk has the wonderful property of whipping into a beautiful, fluffy foam. Once the milk is whipped, carefully add it to the banana mixture and stir gently. If you can't find this milk, the recipe calls for using cream instead, which also needs to be whipped.
After this, spoon the mousse into bowls or glasses and refrigerate it overnight. As you can see, preparing a delight like the one in the photo is incredibly easy, and every home cook is sure to make banana mousse.
