Interesting fact! You can only get a delicate coffee cream mousse using natural instant coffee from Nescafe or another brand.
Previously, we told you how to prepare it at home:
- berry mousse for cake with gelatin;
- mousse layers for cake;
- a delicate mousse dessert made from fermented baked milk;
- porous desserts based on semolina.
Today, we're offering a new recipe with step-by-step photos detailing how to make your own sweet coffee mousse, which can be served as a standalone dessert or used as a frosting for cakes or pastries. You can make the coffee mousse alone or, like us, add a little whipped cream with condensed milk for a smooth, creamy flavor.
-
Coffee (instant)35 G
-
Sugar120 G
-
Water140 ml
-
Cream 35%200 ml
-
Condensed milk4 tsp
In a mixing bowl, combine 35 grams of natural instant coffee (4 full tablespoons) and 120 grams of sugar.
Pour 140 ml of cold water (from the refrigerator) into the mixture and stir thoroughly until the sugar and coffee are completely dissolved.
Beat the coffee and sugar mousse for about 3-4 minutes, until the mixture becomes lighter and round and fluffy, as in the photo.
In a separate bowl, beat the unsweetened cream with a mixer until thick.
When the mixture becomes thick enough, add 4 tablespoons of condensed milk and beat with a mixer for a couple more minutes.
Combine whipped cream with condensed milk and coffee mousse and mix with a spatula until a fluffy, homogeneous mass is obtained.
If you followed the recipe correctly, at this step you should have a stable and dense coffee mousse that is suitable for cake and any desserts.
All that's left to do is decorate the mousse beautifully for serving. The easiest way is to spoon it into glass bowls and decorate. Suitable garnishes include:
- chopped nuts;
- chocolate chip cookies;
- grated chocolate;
- confectionery sprinkles;
- coconut flakes;
- almond petals;
- thick topping or a little chocolate glaze.
You can also make a great cake with a chocolate sponge base using coffee mousse. To help the mixture hold its shape better, you can add a little gelatin (dissolve it in a small amount of water first).
And if you freeze the cream, the recipe for which is offered on this page, for 4-5 hours, you will get a delicious coffee ice cream.
