However, I always want to surprise my friends and acquaintances with something more than just a simple apple sponge cake. In that case, I suggest making an exquisite royal charlotte.

This dessert differs from the traditional charlotte in its composition because it contains nuts. The pastry consists of a thick layer of airy sponge cake and a rich filling of juicy apples and walnuts.

This rich and sophisticated version of charlotte is irresistible! It's both filling and beautiful.

  • Egg C1
    4 pcs
  • Sugar
    200 G
  • Flour
    200 G
  • Walnuts

  • Cinnamon
    2 tsp
  • Baking powder
    1.5 tsp
  • Lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Wash the apples thoroughly, as we'll be using them with the peel. Remove the core and cut into thin slices. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.

Step 2

Beat room-temperature eggs until fluffy and white. Add sugar while whisking.

Step 3

In a clean bowl, combine the sifted wheat flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. You can use vanilla instead of cinnamon, if you prefer.

Step 4

Add the dry ingredients to the egg-sugar mixture and knead the dough.

Step 5

Place the apples in the pan. Pour the batter over the fruit.

Step 6

Finely chop the walnuts and sprinkle them over the pie.

Step 7

Place the charlotte in a preheated oven. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30–35 minutes.

Step 8

Let the charlotte cool slightly. Dust the finished product with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
