Combine cream with sugar, vanilla and salt.
Place over low heat and cook until the sugar dissolves. Stir occasionally to prevent the mixture from burning.
Pour the mixture into a measuring cup or other container to cool. To make two types of ice cream (white and chocolate), divide the liquid in half.
Add a few spoons of the main mass to the cocoa and mix thoroughly.
Pour the resulting chocolate mixture into the main mass and mix thoroughly until smooth.
Take a sieve and strain the chocolate ice cream base through it to remove all the lumps.
Place the ice cream containers in the refrigerator to cool, covered with plastic wrap. This prevents the ice cream from absorbing any odors.
