In fact, not every sugar-free pancake recipe is low-calorie, as this parameter depends not only on the sugar, but also on the type of flour used.
If you just want to skip the sugar, but don't want to make diet pancakes, you can simply do:
- pancakes with natural honey;
- Banana pancakes (use the ripest bananas possible, they will provide enough sweetness);
- pancakes with condensed milk (in such recipes, condensed milk is diluted with water, but the pancakes turn out as if made with milk);
But if you're looking for low-calorie pancakes, you'll need a healthy recipe without wheat flour or sugar:
- protein pancakes;
- fluffy pancakes with whey or low-fat kefir;
- low-calorie options with sweeteners.
The calorie content of these pancakes (without additives) is only 205 kcal per 100 g of the finished product, but if you replace the sour cream with Greek yogurt, you can reduce this figure even further.

In a bowl for preparing the dough, combine 1 egg (white + yolk), a pinch of salt and 70 grams of sour cream (or low-fat yogurt).
Add 1 teaspoon of natural honey and whisk until smooth.
Combine 4 tablespoons of rice flour (70 grams) with baking powder and add to the base, kneading the dough.
Heat the frying pan and fry the pancakes on both sides.
It's best to use a non-stick frying pan; you can make low-calorie pancakes with this type of coating without adding any oil. If you're using a regular frying pan, you'll need to coat it with a thin layer of vegetable oil.
The finished pancakes can be served with a variety of fillings, including banana, kiwi, and fresh berries. You can also drizzle them with liquid honey when serving.
