Preparation

Step 1

Prepare the apples. Wash and core them. Next, cut the fruit into small wedges. To prevent them from browning, you can sprinkle them with lemon juice.

Step 2

In a clean, dry bowl, crack the eggs, add the sweetener and a pinch of salt. Beat until the mixture turns white and becomes fluffy.

Step 3

Add kefir, baking soda, vanilla, and cinnamon to the eggs. Mix thoroughly.

Step 4

Add whole grain flour to the resulting mixture and mix everything until the dough is smooth.

Step 5

Add apples and a tablespoon of vegetable oil to the dough. This will make the charlotte more tender and soft. Stir.

Step 6

Line the pan with parchment paper and grease it with vegetable oil. This will make it easier for the pie to release from the sides.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out. Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes.

Step 8

After baking, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly. You can then decorate it with powdered sugar or sesame seeds, if desired.

Advice
It's easy to check if the pie is done. Just take a toothpick or a wooden skewer and poke it into the dessert. If the skewer comes out clean, with no raw dough residue, the charlotte is fully baked.
What goes with dessert?

Apple charlotte is a ready-made dessert that can be served without any additions. However, it's still possible to enhance the flavor of this delicacy. For this purpose, I recommend using powdered sugar, pieces of fruit, or various toppings. A slice of the pie can be drizzled with condensed milk or served with jam, confiture, or custard.

Apple pie pairs perfectly with a scoop of creamy ice cream. The cold treat perfectly complements the sweet pastry and perfectly offsets the tartness of the apples. This serving option is perfect for holiday dinners, as it's sure to impress all your guests.

This apple pie recipe is perfect for those watching their diet. The use of whole-wheat flour makes it healthier than its classic counterpart. Make this charlotte and delight your loved ones with delicious and flavorful desserts!
