Sour cream impregnation for sponge cake
It's no wonder sour cream was regularly used by Soviet housewives in desserts. Sour cream impregnation combines a soft, creamy aroma with a slight tartness, which helps to tone down the cloying sweetness and make the cake more balanced and rich in flavor.

A sour cream and sugar cake frosting can be made very easily. Simply mix the two ingredients. However, if you want a more creamy frosting, you'll need to add more ingredients.
Butter will add more depth to the sour cream filling for sponge cakes, making it suitable for use as a filling or frosting for cakes. Condensed milk will thin the mixture and make it more fluid, allowing the sour cream to better soak into the cake layers.

Measure out all the ingredients right away so you have them on hand. We don't use sugar for this recipe because it doesn't dissolve well in sour cream and leaves unsightly inclusions. If you can't find powdered sugar, as a last resort, grind the sugar in a coffee grinder and add 2 pinches of starch to give the powder the desired consistency. Mix everything thoroughly.
Beat the sour cream with powdered sugar until smooth.
Add melted butter cut into pieces.
Beat again with an immersion blender using the same whisk attachment.
The sour cream filling is ready. Pour it into a convenient bowl and use it to moisten the cake layers or as a frosting for the honey cake. For a thicker consistency, use a heavier sour cream.
