Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take the cream out of the refrigerator last. It needs to be cold to whip properly. You can substitute cottage cheese with cream cheese if desired.
Mix the cottage cheese with half the sugar and blend with an immersion blender until smooth and pasty. Dry cottage cheese works best for making the curd cream. If you're using watery cottage cheese, let it hang in several layers of cheesecloth first.
Pour the cream into a clean bowl and beat on medium speed until thick and soft peaks form. Add the remaining sugar and beat until the sugar granules are completely dissolved.

- To achieve a pleasant creamy consistency, use cottage cheese with sufficient fat content. Granular cottage cheese is not suitable for tiramisu, as it is quite difficult to grind into a paste.
- The cream in the recipe must be chilled and have sufficient fat content (at least 30%). Otherwise, it won't whip.
- If for some reason the cream won't whip, a special cream thickener can save the situation.
- If you can't find savoiardi cookies, substitute any other shortbread cookie. You can also bake your own savoiardi or sponge cake, after drying it a bit first.
- To give the treat a piquant flavor and extra aroma, add a little alcohol to the coffee. Cognac, amaretto, or any other liqueur of your choice will do.
- Be sure to let the dessert sit. At least 6 hours is required for the tiramisu to fully soak.
