Antonovka jam in a slow cooker

When ripening, Antonovka apples often fall over and hit the grass. Drying such a large quantity of apples is difficult, and unnecessary. You can simply make a quick and easy jam in a slow cooker. Depending on the size of the bowl, you can make 1 to 3 servings of this jam at a time.

Step 1

Peel the Antonovka apples with a vegetable peeler and remove the core. Cut into pieces and place in the multicooker bowl.

Step 2

Add sugar, but do not stir.

Step 3

Depending on the type of multicooker, set the “Stewing” mode, or if you don’t have one, set it to “Porridge” or “Soup” for 1 hour.

Step 4

After this time, the jam will be ready. At this point, it's important to prepare the sterilized jars and boil the lids.

Step 5

Pour the still hot jam into the jars to the very top and close with lids.

Step 6

Antonovka jam made in a slow cooker is ready. It can be stored throughout the cold season.

Recipes without a multicooker
You can always replicate the slow cooker's cooking method on the stovetop by simmering the fruit mixture over low heat for the appropriate amount of time. However, if you don't have a non-stick saucepan, be sure to stir the jam regularly. Otherwise, it will burn.
