Pear and apple jam
Pear and apple jam is incredibly delicious and delicate. Fragrant, appetizing, with a honeyed aftertaste, it's a delightful winter treat. To ensure the pear slices are firm, be patient and don't skip the time it takes to steep the fruit in the sugar syrup.

Cut the pears into wedges, removing the cores. Place them in a large saucepan, sprinkling them with 1 kg of sugar, alternating layers of fruit and sugar.
Add the diced apples and sprinkle them with sugar. Smooth them out, cover with a lid, and let sit for 24 hours.
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Be sure to scrape down the sides to prevent burning. Let sit overnight or for 8 hours. During this time, the slices will swell, but will become thinner as they steep.
Place the pan on the stove and simmer for 10 minutes. Then let it steep for 6 hours. Repeat the simmering process one last time for another 10 minutes.
The pear-apple jam is ready. Pour into jars and seal.
