Kiwi and apple jam

Typically, apple jam with kiwi turns out more brown than green. The seeds and distinctive flavor are the only clues to its exotic ingredients. But by cooking the fruit for a shorter period, you can preserve some of the kiwi's color and make the preserve more festive.

Preparation

Step 1

Step 2

Add peeled apples, cut into slices of approximately the same size.

Step 3

Sprinkle with sugar and add lemon juice.

Step 4

Stir with a silicone spatula from the bottom up, put on medium heat and bring to a boil.

Step 5

Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even heating. Meanwhile, prepare to make the jam: sterilize two 450-500 ml jars and boil the lids.

Step 6

The apple and kiwi jam is ready. Pour into jars and seal for the winter.

Choosing kiwi for jam
For slicing and salads, it's best to choose soft fruits. They lose almost all of their acidity and have a much more pleasant taste. However, for jam, firm, slightly unripe fruits are better. They won't overcook too quickly in puree and will offset the syrup's cloying sweetness.
