Paradise apple jam with vanilla rum

The use of vanilla rum gives the syrup a rose-cognac color and a unique aroma. The apples are incredibly tender and literally melt in your mouth. All the alcohol evaporates during cooking, so the dessert is safe for children and expectant mothers.

Preparation

Step 1

Wash the apples, trim the stems, and pierce the skin with a knife in 2-3 places. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice and pour in vanilla rum.

Step 2

We make syrup from sugar and water, put the apples into it and cook for 15 minutes over moderate heat and leave them to soak for 12 hours.

Step 3

We repeat the boiling and cooling process three times total. This process is necessary to ensure they turn out tender and translucent, as the recipe calls for.

Step 4

The ranetki jam with vanilla rum is ready. Place it in pre-sterilized jars and seal with the prepared lids.

The benefits of alcohol for jam
In Europe, alcohol is often added to jams and preserves. Dry white wine is the preferred choice. One glass per pan is enough to enhance the flavor of the preserve. Furthermore, wine prevents the fruit mixture from burning, protecting the syrup from caramelization.
