Preparation
Step 1
Peel the pumpkin and cut it into cubes. Core the apples and cut them into similar-sized pieces. Sprinkle with sugar and shake the pan to distribute it evenly. Cover and leave in the kitchen for 4 hours.
Step 2
Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes from the moment it boils. Let it cool completely.
Step 3
We repeat the cooking and cooling procedure twice.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a boil for the last time.
Step 5
We close the pumpkin-apple jam in sterilized jars.
Sterilization for the lazy
If you don't like sterilizing your jars, you can simply wash them with dishwashing liquid and then with baking soda. Just remember to rinse them thoroughly under hot running water. Alternatively, add 1-2 teaspoons of citric acid to the jam, depending on the sweetness of the apples, to prevent the jam from going sour.
