Preparation

Step 1

Peel and core the pumpkin and apples, then dice them. Place them in a saucepan, add the seedless lemon slices, and water.

Step 2

Place the pan over low heat and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Once the syrup comes to a boil, cook for another 10 minutes or until the pumpkin is tender.

Step 3

The pumpkin and apple jam is ready. Fill the prepared jars to the top with jam and seal with lids. Store in the pantry if you used a metal lid, or in the refrigerator if you simply sealed them tightly or covered them with plastic wrap.

Options for using jam
Pumpkin-apple jam with citrus notes can be used as a pie filling, served with syrniki (cottage cheese pancakes), pancakes, or fritters, or added to other baked goods. Even 1 tablespoon of jam added to classic muffin batter can transform them, making them more appetizing and flavorful.
