Lemon juice1 tsp
Make the dough starter by combining warm milk, 50 g of sugar, and dry yeast. Mix until smooth. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Pour sugar into a saucepan and add the yolks.
Pour in the softened butter.
Grate the orange zest into the egg mixture.
Add the dough to the total mixture and mix.
Add flour in parts.
While kneading, add vegetable oil.
Cover the elastic dough with cling film and place in a warm place for 1.5 – 2 hours.
Add candied fruit to the risen dough.
Place the dough into baking pans 1/3 full.
Cover with cling film and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius until done.
Beat the egg whites and powdered sugar until white peaks form. Add lemon juice as you go.
Decorate the finished kulichi with icing. Add additional decorations if desired. Enjoy!
