Frozen cherry puree

Cherry jam or compote isn't the best way to preserve cherries for the winter. Heat treatment inevitably destroys some of the berries' vitamins. In this case, freezing is much preferable. Your cherries will retain all their beneficial properties and summer flavor for at least a year.

Preparation

Step 1

Using a toothpick or pin, remove the pits from the washed cherries. Divide them into smaller and larger pieces.

Step 2

Add sugar to the smaller portion and blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

Step 3

Place the cherries in containers, pour in the puree, leaving 5 mm from the edge free, and close them.

Step 4

Place the containers in bags, roll them tightly, and leave them in the freezer until completely frozen. If any of the mixture leaks during freezing, it will definitely not stain the refrigerator.

Add some berries
This recipe allows you to preserve cherries not only in their own juice. You can use any other berries for the puree. The main thing is that they have a mild flavor, otherwise the cherry aroma will be practically undetectable in the preserve.
