Preparation

Step 1

Rinse the strawberries and place them in a colander. While the water is draining, remove the stems. Don't do this ahead of time, as this will make the strawberries watery from washing.

Step 2

Place the hulled strawberries on a baking sheet lined with paper towels. The paper will absorb any remaining liquid.

Step 3

Cover a cutting board with cling film and transfer the dried berries onto it. Freeze for 3-4 hours.

Step 4

We take out and transfer the strawberries into a storage container.

Step 5

Place the berries in a bag and seal it tightly. Be sure to include a piece of paper indicating the name of the berry and the packaging date. This will ensure that the earliest-packaged products are used promptly.

Pierce large berries
Large berries will freeze unevenly and may become misshapen. You can solve this problem by piercing the strawberry through the tip with a regular drinking straw. This hole will help distribute the cold evenly throughout the flesh and freeze the strawberries faster.
