Tiramisu - replace cheese with cream!
Content
Tiramisu with cream is a classic Italian recipe that includes rich Italian coffee, rich local cheese, and many other ingredients. Since this delicacy has gained worldwide recognition, many variations of this dessert have emerged. In its modified form, this Italian dessert can resemble cake, pudding, or even jelly.
How to make tiramisu?
The recipe below serves six. This tiramisu combines Italian influences with a Russian twist. You'll need the following ingredients:
- 3 egg yolks;
- 350 g mascarpone cheese;
- 50 g ground coffee;
- 60 g sugar;
- 40 ml rum;
- 250 ml medium fat cream;
- 30 g powdered sugar with vanilla;
- 200 g savoyardi biscuits;
- 30 g cocoa powder.
The brewing process will take about five hours, so be patient. First, brew strong coffee (50 grams per 350 milliliters of water) and let it cool. Add cognac or rum to the cooled drink.
The next step is to whisk the yolks and sugar in a double boiler until the mixture becomes thick and light. Remove the bowl from the heat and continue whisking until the mixture cools.
Next, you need to mash the mascarpone cream cheese and mix in the yolks. The dessert should be completely smooth.
Chilled cream is whipped with powdered sugar until a thick, creamy mixture is formed, then combined with the cheese mixture. Combine the ingredients using bottom-up movements.
Place a two-centimeter layer of cream into the prepared tiramisu mold (its height should be approximately 8-10 centimeters).
The next step: the cookies are quickly dipped in coffee on both sides, then placed in the pan on top of the layer of cream. And then topped with another layer of cream.
The dessert is almost ready. You can decorate it however you like. You can use a cinnamon stick, grated chocolate, a sprig of mint, powdered sugar, or vanilla. For the dessert to set, refrigerate it for four to five hours or overnight. Serve the tiramisu chilled. For added flavor, you can top it with caramel topping or a scoop of ice cream.

What can I substitute for cookies?
Savoiardi cookies aren't available in every store, but if you're so inclined, you can make them at home. They'll taste just like store-bought. You'll need the following ingredients:
- 4 eggs;
- 120 g flour;
- 120 g sugar.
Using a mixer, beat the egg yolks with 100 g of sugar until thick and pale. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining 20 g of sugar until stiff peaks form. Pour the yolk mixture into the whites and mix, working from top to bottom. Gradually add the millet flour and mix again in the same manner. Once the mixture is smooth, transfer it to a pastry bag or a heavy-duty plastic bag with the corner snipped off.
Line a baking pan with parchment paper, grease with butter, and lightly dust with flour. Press the dough into strips approximately 5 cm wide and 10 cm long. Bake the savoiardi in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) for 10 minutes.
