The Perfect Cake Recipe
In our mothers' time, sweets weren't very common, and they were usually passed down from grandmothers or girlfriends. And often, the recipe was invented spontaneously. One of these cake recipes was named "Ideal". Many people call it “men’s cake” because the stronger sex really likes it.
In fact, this cake delights both men and women. It's easy to make, and the key to its name, "Ideal," is that the dough is generously flavored with nuts and the layers are thoroughly soaked in cream. Here's the recipe:
The "Perfect" Cake
Ingredients for the cake layers:
- Eggs – 3 pcs. (large).
- Sugar – 300 gr.
- Nuts – 120 g (chopped, to your taste).
- Baking powder – 0.5 sachet.
- Flour – 350g.
- Honey – 1.5 tablespoons.
Ingredients for the cream:
- Condensed milk – 1 can (boiled).
- Butter - 200 gr.
- Sour cream – 100 ml.
- Nuts – 70 g (ground into fine crumbs).
Ingredients for the glaze:
- Butter – 70 gr.
- Dark chocolate – 100 gr.
- Vanillin – 0.5 sachet.
- Nuts – 30 g (for decoration, optional).
Recipe for cakes:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and flour a baking pan, or spray with baking spray. For the Ideal cake, you'll need to bake either two layers or one, but then you'll have to cut it in half, so the pan shouldn't be too wide.
- Mix the eggs with granulated sugar and begin beating them with a mixer at medium speed until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- While whisking, add honey in a thin stream. Let's look at the recipe.
- Combine the sifted flour, baking powder, and nuts and add them to the egg-sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
- Pour the resulting batter into the pan and bake for approximately 40 minutes. If you're unsure whether your cake will separate, you can bake the cakes in two batches. To do this, divide the batter in half and bake each half separately. This reduces the baking time to 20-25 minutes per cake.
- Five minutes before the end of baking, check the doneness of the cake using a match or toothpick. If there's any batter remaining on the toothpick, you'll need to bake the cake for another 5-7 minutes.
- Afterward, remove the cakes, invert them onto a wire rack or cover with a towel, and let them cool. If you're using a single cake, once it's cooled, carefully cut it into two equal layers with a bread knife or a special wire.
Cream recipe
- Place the condensed milk in a mixing bowl and add room temperature butter.
- We begin to beat the condensed milk with butter using a mixer at medium speed.
- Once the mixture is smooth, add sour cream and vanilla and beat again until smooth.
The Ideal dessert cream is ready! Now it's time to decorate our cake.
Dessert design and decoration
- Place the first cake layer on a plate and spread a thick layer of frosting on top. Then place the second cake layer on top of the frosting and press it gently into place. Coat the cake with frosting (sides and top) and freeze for 7 minutes.
- Place the broken chocolate and cubed butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Place the saucepan over low heat and stir until the butter and chocolate form a smooth paste.
- Add vanilla and nuts, stir again, and turn off the heat. That's a simple decoration recipe.
- Remove the cake from the freezer and spread the slightly cooled glaze over it. Sprinkle with nuts on top.
The cake, called "Ideal," is ready! The recipe is incredibly easy and won't take much time, and the men in your family are sure to not only be delighted but also sincerely thank you for such a wonderful dessert!
