Delicious apple pies for any weather
Apple pie is a classic of the confectionery genre. The many variations on this simple yet delicious apple dessert testify to its continued popularity! Every homemaker has probably baked a quick apple pie at least once and served it to unexpected guests.
The beauty of apple pie is that it's not at all difficult to prepare, and the ingredients you need to make it are quite common.
Sponge cake with apples
This recipe doesn't require expensive ingredients, special culinary skills, or a lot of free time.
So, to quickly bake a fluffy apple pie you need:
- ripe apples - 3 pcs
- large chicken eggs - 3 pcs.
- sifted wheat flour - 200-210 g
- sugar - 120-150 g
- slaked soda - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla
- oil for greasing - 10 g
Remove the seeds from the apples and cut them into small slices. Next, separate the whites from the yolks, and beat the yolks with sugar until lightened.
Beat the egg whites with a few drops of vinegar until stiff peaks form. When the whites hold their shape, fold them into the yolks. Gradually add the flour, whisking constantly. To help the dough rise, add baking soda, slowly and carefully mixing it into the mixture. Add a pinch of vanilla sugar for flavor.
Place the apples in a deep, greased baking dish, pouring the prepared batter over them. Bake the apple sponge cake in a hot oven at 180-200˚C for half an hour. The apple sponge cake will be soft, fluffy, and most importantly—delicious!
Classic American pie
Fragrant, beautiful, and with an openwork mesh on top - this is the hallmark of a classic American-style pie.
All you need to prepare:
- wheat flour - 310 g
- butter (pack) - 200 g
- cold water - 60 ml
- juice of a juicy lemon - 3 tbsp
- salt
- green apples - 6 pcs
- sugar - 250 g
- fresh starch powder - 3 tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 0.5 tsp
- egg yolk - 1 pc
Cut the cold butter into pieces and freeze. Then, mix the frozen pieces with flour and salt, grinding until fine crumbs form. Add a spoonful of lemon juice to the water and pour it into the mixture. Knead the dough with your hands, then refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Peel the apples, core them, and cut them into thin slices. Sprinkle the fruit with sugar and pour in the remaining lemon juice. Add the cornstarch as well. Mix everything thoroughly.
Grease a deep, round pan with butter. Separate 2/3 of the dough, knead it, and roll it out to a size that covers the bottom and forms the desired height of the sides. Transfer the rolled-out dough into the pan and spoon the prepared apple mixture into it.
Using a pastry cutter, cut strips of rolled dough 1.5 cm wide and the same length as the pie diameter. Carefully place the strips on the apples, keeping a 2 cm gap between them. Brush the top and edges with beaten egg yolk and water. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 45-50 minutes.
This classic American apple pie is perfect for both a simple family tea party and a more formal event.
