Today there are many recipes for this dish, but we will focus on how to make jelly from juice.
The unique feature of this treat is that it can be made from a wide variety of products combined with gelatin as the base. Any sweet liquids and drinks are generally suitable, from homemade compotes and fruit juices to dairy products.
Jelly first appeared in medieval Europe. Chefs of that time were already actively using dairy products to create desserts, and pectin and gelatin, substances obtained from animal waste, were used as gelling agents. Edible gelatin in the form we know it today was used much later.
The dessert recipe has remained virtually unchanged over the years. Only the varieties of the original delicacy have been added, and it has become fashionable to use fruit juices in various combinations to make jelly. Any homemaker with any juice and a packet of gelatin can make jelly at home.
Preparing jelly with juice
Jelly is a perfect dessert for any occasion and will truly be a table centerpiece. We offer a recipe for a treat that takes no more than 15 minutes to prepare and is sure to delight your guests. In this case, you'll need any store-bought juice. Use your imagination and choose your own fruit drinks for the dessert, planning the taste and appearance of the finished treat.
To prepare we will need:
- a liter of fruit juice;
- gelatin - 50 g.
Clear, pulp-free drinks are best as a base for jelly. Grape, cherry, or orange juice, with their rich flavor and vibrant color, are excellent options. Each cook chooses their own recipe and which juice is most convenient for them to use in the preparation process.
Cooking process
The dessert-making process is as follows. Gelatin must be pre-soaked in water. For every 50 g of gelatin, use 200-300 ml of water. Pour the juice into a separate container and place it on the stove. Bring the syrup to a boil, drain off the excess water, and add it to the swollen gelatin.
Continue cooking for 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until the gelatin is completely dissolved. The jelly is almost ready; all that's left is to pour it into the selected molds to cool. Refrigerate the cooled jelly until it sets completely.
The recipe is simple and doesn't require any additional ingredients or complicated preparation. You can garnish the finished product with berries or fruit pieces if you like.
After a short period of time, an excellent sweet dessert will appear on your table, to the delight of adults and children.
