The art of cooking has always been about combining healthy and less-than-healthy ingredients into an exceptionally delicious dish. A quick glance at a cookbook will reveal the most frequently used ingredients. One of them is gelatin.

This controversial product is in high demand among both novice and professional cooks. Made from collagen, it can dramatically transform any culinary masterpiece. It not only contributes to the appearance of a dish but also influences its taste. Gelatin also has a number of beneficial properties:

  • strengthens nails and hair;
  • improves overall bone condition and joint mobility;
  • cures gastrointestinal disorders and improves normal digestion and metabolism;
  • promotes weight loss;
  • makes the skin more elastic;
  • enriches the body with protein.

Therefore, any desserts containing gelatin not only decorate your holiday table but also provide additional beneficial nutrients. As long as you don't add too much gelatin, of course. Any product, even the healthiest one, can be toxic if consumed in excess.

Panna Cotta or "Cooked Cream"

Homemade panna cotta is easy and quick to prepare!

One of the most popular Italian desserts, often mentioned in top ten most delicious dishes, is Panna Cotta, or "Cooked Cream." Of course, this dessert is made with gelatin. To prepare this incredibly delicious dessert, you will need:

  • 400 ml of twenty percent cream;
  • two egg yolks;
  • 150 g sugar;
  • 15 g gelatin;
  • a teaspoon of vanillin.

Soak the gelatin granules in cold water for 20 minutes. Then add them to 50 ml of cream mixed with the egg yolks. Meanwhile, heat the remaining cream, dissolving the sugar and vanilla in it. When the cream is hot enough on the stove, combine the two mixtures, continuing to heat. Bring to a boil and immediately turn off the heat. Do not allow it to boil.

After about 15 minutes, the cream will have cooled enough to whip with a mixer (be sure to use the highest setting). To make it light and fluffy, whip the resulting mixture in a cold water bath. The dessert will be simply amazing!

No-Bake Peach Cheesecake

Peach cheesecake with gelatin

An equally famous dessert, impossible to prepare without gelatin, is the so-called cheesecake. The origin of this dish once sparked a heated debate. Everyone claimed that their country was the first to create this "cheesecake." Ultimately, the British, Americans, and Italians emerged as the winners, as they are the ones who most often prepare this cheese dessert in a variety of forms.

To prepare gelatin cheesecake you will need:

  • two cans of canned peaches;
  • 200 g of Yubileiny style cookies;
  • 400 g of cottage cheese;
  • 200 ml of thirty percent cream;
  • 200 g butter;
  • 100 g sugar;
  • 30 g gelatin;
  • vanillin to taste.

And it's best to make No-Bake Cheesecake in a springform pan. It's much easier to remove from there.

Let half the gelatin granules soak in water for 30 minutes. Soak the other half in the syrup drained from a can of canned peaches. While it soaks, crush the cookies into fine crumbs and mix with softened butter.

Place the resulting mixture on the bottom of the mold and compact it thoroughly. Refrigerate the mixture for a while. Heat the gelatin, which has been swollen in water, over a flame until it boils and dissolves completely. Cool the resulting liquid to room temperature.

Beat the sugar, cream, and vanilla until the sugar dissolves. Add the cottage cheese and mix thoroughly. Pour the cooled gelatin into the cottage cheese mixture. Remove the mold from the refrigerator and cover the cookie layer with the cottage cheese "cream." Then return the mold to the refrigerator for another two hours, until the cottage cheese jelly has completely set.

Once the cottage cheese has set in the refrigerator, heat the syrup with the remaining gelatin until it's completely dissolved. Cool. Arrange the peach slices on top of the cottage cheese and carefully pour the cooled gelatin syrup over them. That's it. Wait a couple of hours for the jelly to set, and then serve!

  • 5 pieces of kiwi;
  • one banana;
  • three teaspoons of lemon juice;
  • one teaspoon of gelatin;
  • 200 g of sugar.

Wash and peel the kiwi, cut it into medium-sized pieces, and place it in a saucepan with the banana slices. Use a blender to finely chop the fruit. Then add the sugar, gelatin, and lemon juice, mix everything together, and return the saucepan to the stove. Boil for no more than five minutes, stirring constantly. Turn off the heat and leave the saucepan on the stove. After about an hour, bring it back to a boil. The finished jam can be stored in regular jars in the refrigerator.
